Regulation & Quality Officer (Rehab Group)

Job Purpose
The Quality and Governance Directorate implements quality management systems to support compliance with standards and statutory obligations specifically HIQA, Safeguarding, New Directions, ADM, HSA, QQI and ETB. The Department is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the quality and safety of services and supporting services to manage risk, meet health and safety requirements, deal with complaints, and ensure people who use our services are safe. The Directorate ensures an ethos of continuous improvement and practice excellence across all services.
Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Regulation, the Regulation and Quality Officer will contribute to the development of regulatory frameworks, internal audit systems and support Operations to comply with existing and incoming regulations. The Regulation and Quality Officer will also lead out on projects with a quality improvement focus.
Minimum Education & Skills required
A third level qualification in health and social care or equivalent
Substantial knowledge and experience of standards and regulations
Excellent organisational and planning skills. Ability to deal effectively with competing demands
Experience of leading the implementation of quality improvement projects
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provide advice and guidance to service Managers and other operational staff on Regulatory Issues and provide additional targeted guidance and support to services experiencing challenges in service delivery as required by the Head of Regulation.
Complete audits on behalf of the organisation, these predominantly will be within the organisation’s regulated services, however may also include audits of other service types.
Contribute to the development of new policies and processes that align to regulations and frameworks as set out by our regulators & funders.
Support the Head of Regulation to maintain registration information, ensure all registration information is up to date, and ensure that re registration takes place in a timely manner.
Additional requirements
Lead and / or participate in internal and represent the organisation on external working groups as required.
Co-ordinate a range of Quality Improvement Projects and regularly report on same.
Support the Head of Regulation to develop and manage Internal Audit schedules across a range of service models. Provide reports in relation to audits, action planning and continuous improvement planning.
