About the Role
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will work under general supervision of the Senior Engineering Manager to design efforts from inception through production in new product and continuous improvement designs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop conceptual and final design solutions for material handling equipment in the aggregate industry, including tracked conveyors, hopper feeders, and telescopic stackers.
* Manage and coordinate project activities, support existing product offerings, and perform testing or analysis of new and existing products.
* Lead cost reduction efforts to add equipment value for customers and implement quality improvement projects using the D8 process.
* Aid procurement with supply chain issues, assist Service with product support technical issues, and create thorough engineering specifications and drawings.
* Implement Safety evaluations and improvements to the product line and manage engineering changes per established company procedures.
About the Team
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other engineers, cross-functional teams not limited to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years experience in equipment design and manufacturing, including mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and electrical/control system design.
* Proficient with personal computing, Microsoft Office Suite, 3-D CAD software applications (Solid Works preferred), and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
* Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and standards.
* Understanding of manufacturing practices, including cutting, forming, and welding of metals.
* Good organization and time-management skills.
