Location: CPU Bray
Rate of pay: €12.70 per hour
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Job Purpose
To assist in providing clean and hygienic food service and food preparation areas throughout the site.
Responsible for all washing up and disposal of waste. On occasions responsible for some aspects
of food service to customers in line with the Gather & Gather brand. To work on a shift basis as
required by the business.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Food Production
* To complete duties in the kitchen and service areas as directed that are necessary to ensure an
efficient, hygienic service is provided.
* To assist with food preparation as required.
* To transport all food items, cleaning materials and laundry from the delivery area to kitchen storerooms and to kitchen preparation areas as required.
* Responsible for the cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, waste bins, hot plates, kitchen equipment,
canopies, delivery areas, storerooms, walk in fridges, and all other areas as necessary to ensure an
hygienic kitchen and service areas.
* To clean, wash, dry and polish all kitchen equipment and service items by hand or machine in an
efficient manner.
* Operate all necessary sterilising equipment.
* To operate all heavy equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
* Responsible for the correct disposal and any recycling of all rubbish.
Kitchen Finance
* Check all stock against delivery orders and ensure correct items and correct quantity are delivered.
* Account for all stock brought into site and store appropriately to minimise waste and loss.
* Use equipment carefully to avoid breakage.
* Assist in weekly and monthly stock-takes as directed.
Health & Safety
* To understand and comply with Gather & Gather and statutory health, hygiene and safety, quality
standards including COSHH and HACCP ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with these
standards in all areas of the site as outlined in the Gather & Gather handbook.
* To de-cant all food items in delivery area and store in the appropriate containers to reduce the
chance of cross contamination. All food items to be stored in line with company and health and safety
regulations.
* To decant all chemical materials delivered to the site to appropriate containers in line with standards.
* Use and store all chemicals appropriately in line with standards.
* Wear the correct uniform and safety shoes as directed and maintain uniform items appropriately.
* Report any equipment and/or building fab
