Job Title:
Transport and Logistics Planner/Scheduler
Job Purpose:
To effectively and efficiently organise transport load planning from day to day, working within a busy transport team.
Main Responsibilities:
* BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborate with suppliers, operations, sales, and the customer base to enhance the transport and logistics function.
* LOAD PLANNING AND SCHEDULING: Plan and schedule finished bagged product and outgoing Greenvale products for maximum efficiency and adherence to service levels.
* DRIVER MANAGEMENT: Schedule, control, and allocate drivers as required to ensure seamless transportation operations.
* TRANSPORT STREAMLINING: Develop and implement a more streamlined transport and logistics function to improve productivity and reduce costs.
* CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Provide timely delivery information to customers and address their queries and concerns.
* TELESALES INITIATIVE: Utilise telesales to optimise vehicle payloads and increase revenue.
* INTERDEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION: Work closely with other departments to ensure that all systems are aligned with requirements and objectives.
* DOCUMENTATION AND ADMINISTRATION: Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to high standards of administration.
* SUPPORT DURING LEAVES: Provide support to the transport team during periods of annual leave to ensure continuity of operations.
Qualifications:
* HOLD A THIRD-LEVEL QUALIFICATION: A distinct advantage in this role.
* TRANSPORT/LOGISTICS EXPERIENCE: Essential experience in transport/logistics scheduling/planning.
* AGRICULTURAL BACKGROUND: Beneficial for understanding the industry's nuances.
