Senior Quantity Surveyor - Electrical Experience
We are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in the Electrical sector to join our growing team in Cork.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have excellent people skills and be able to work independently or as part of a larger team. The role will focus on the pharma/biopharma and Life Sciences sector.
Responsibilities
1. Pre-Contract Responsibilities:
o Preparing capital cost estimates
o Advice on building economics
o Producing lifecycle cost estimates
o Advice on tendering procedures and contract arrangements
o Drafting of contract packages including advice on amendments to standard forms
o Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
2. Tendering Phase Responsibilities:
o Providing advice on tendering procedures
o Draft instructions to tenderers
o Development of tender evaluation criteria
o Drafting of PQQ questionnaires
o Handling queries during tender period
o Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
o Negotiation with tenderers
3. Post Contract Duties:
o Valuing progress on site for interim certificates
o Ascertainment of amounts due to contractors for price variation
o Valuing proposed instructions
o Drafting responses to contractors' correspondence
o Determination of amounts of claims
o Expediting contractors' insurances, bonds and collateral warranties; and valuating contractors' final accounts
Qualifications
1. Quantity Surveying Degree required
2. Mechanical and or Electrical QS experience necessary
3. Chartered (or close to Chartership) with SCSI
4. Minimum of 8+ years experience in a consultant environment carrying out pre and post contract duties
5. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to produce accurate work to project deadlines
