Were expanding our team and looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead design processes on a major construction project in Sandyford.

Overview The purpose of the design manager is to ensure the design of various parties is coordinated between design consultancy teams and the onsite trades and specialist subcontractor designers.
There will also be a focus on ensuring the evolving design is the optimum solution for the Comer Group in terms of client brief, quality, robustness, and cost.
Responsibilities Take ownership of the design management process and implement processes to ensure the progress of design moves smoothly from detailed design and tender stage, to contract appointment and construction on site.
To complete and publish a Design Management Plan Control all design platform submittals and RFIs.
Ensure submittals are fully cooked before requesting approvals from relevant parties.
Ensure that Coordination status designs are rapidly moving towards Construction Status to avoid delays on site or with long lead in items.
Lead the Design team to ensure that no barriers arise unexpectedly, and any coordination issues are actively being dealt with and closed out.
Work to establish an agreed scope of services for all Design disciplines and/or Design Sub-contractors/Suppliers.
Ensure adherence to the design brief/scope of service by all supply chain members.
Manage all design reviews and co-ordination meetings; ensuring a fully coordinated design evolving in good time, with no gaps in scope or unnecessary delays in design progression.
Ensure that design is developed in line with procurement and construction requirements and the cost plan budget allowances.
To ensure that the Design fully accords with the defined specifications as detailed within the work package or Sub-contract documents as appropriate.
Assist with compiling BCAR certification Qualifications A Bachelor Degree or equivalent in related subject (e.g.
Architecture, Engineering, Construction) You must have a proven level of experience in Apartments construction in Ireland.
You must have excellent commercial awareness You must be aware of the technical submittal and design submittal process You must have experience of procore or similar construction / design software You must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit software.
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget.
You must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business services.
A forward planner, who identifies and resolves project challenges effectively.
You must be able to critically assesses own performance and performance of others.
Have an in-depth knowledge base and experience across all work stages.
Ability to lead, coordinate and supervise both internal and external teams.
Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Have thorough knowledge of EU building regulations and construction technology.
Possess exceptional technical and construction detailing ability.
A working knowledge of Revit would be beneficial, but is not essential.
