Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective scheduling of maintenance activities to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime. This role includes developing maintenance plans, coordinating resources, tracking performance, and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure alignment with operational goals and safety regulations.
2. Prioritize and plan work orders (scope, resources, tools) and raise purchase order requests per procurement procedures.
3. Coordinate with operations, procurement, and vendors to ensure resource availability, effective utilization, and budget control.
4. Review and prioritize incoming work orders in CMMS (PEMAC) and assign tasks to technicians with clear scope and materials.
5. Plan and schedule downtime and shutdowns, incorporating PMs and corrective backlog tasks.
6. Maintain accurate records in CMMS and generate reports on maintenance metrics, such as MTBF and equipment downtime.
7. Conduct spare part inventory and MRO settings reviews to ensure parts availability.
8. Collaborate with external contractors and production teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
9. Ensure all maintenance complies with regulatory standards and safety policies. Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance PMs are completed on time.
10. Provide recommendations to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs.
11. Support budgeting and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
1. 2-5 year experience in maintenance
2. Engineering or Trade qualification essential
Technical Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for industrial maintenance.
2. Affinity with planning & scheduling; ability to effectively plan ahead.
3. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
4. Familiarity with maintenance methodologies like TPM, RCM, and Lean Maintenance.
5. Strong knowledge CMMS systems, PEMAC & Maximo are an advantage.
Soft Skills:
1. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Specific Experience
1. Good knowledge and working experience with maintenance planning, preparation and scheduling.
2. Able to chair planning meetings and facilitate them effectively.
3. Ability to work effectively with the CMMS (PEMAC) and with planning/scheduling software.
4. Good reporting and data handling/computer skills.
5. Understands workflow management process and masters gatekeeping principle.
6. Ability to work structured and disciplined; set clear priorities in workload and keep to agreements under pressure.
