Position: The Lead DeltaV Engineer will manage a team(s) of DeltaV engineers, overseeing control strategy development and system integration delivery for both continuous and batch manufacturing processes. They will liaise with internal engineering teams, site teams, vendors, and clients, manage system design, testing and commissioning. Self-motivation, good technical knowledge of process control in Life Sciences, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle diverse tasks independently are key traits for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead a DeltaV team in the delivery of system integration projects, working closely with other engineering disciplines, and project management from concept through to construction.
2. Lead the development of control strategies, logic, and programming for complex batch control applications.
3. Lead and participate in DeltaV design reviews, both code and hardware.
4. Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure successful integration of DeltaV systems with existing plant infrastructure.
5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to other DeltaV engineers and project stakeholders.
6. Interact with clients, third party vendors and site teams to deliver process automation solutions.
7. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and site commissioning activities to ensure system functionality and performance.
8. Develop and maintain documentation including functional specifications, design documents, and user manuals.
9. Ability to manage a varied workload, and work on own initiative, self-motivated.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience working with DeltaV DCS systems.
3. Proficiency in DeltaV configuration software (DeltaV Explorer, Control Studio, etc.).
4. Proficiency in DeltaV hardware design and testing.
5. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in Life Sciences industries e.g. GAMP, ISA-S88, ISA-95, ISA-62443.
6. Strong understanding of process control principles and industrial automation systems.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
8. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment, and report to project and operations management.
Additional Desired Criteria:
1. Experience with PLC and SCADA platforms e.g. Rockwell and Siemens.
2. Experience with Historians and MES e.g. Aveva PI, Syncade / PAS-X.
3. Knowledge or familiarity with Smart Plant Instrumentation.
4. Knowledge or familiarity with manufacturing network design.
5. Knowledge or familiarity with Kneat as a digital validation solution.
