National EV Charging Project Manager Location: Main Office, Swords, North Co.
Dublin Flexible base with regular travel Reporting To: Head of Energy & Sustainability Salary: €60,000 - €70.000 with annual increments (Commensurate with experience and public sector pay scales) Travel: Mileage and expenses provided at public sector rates We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented National EV Charging Project Manager to lead the delivery of a national EV charging infrastructure programme across a diverse portfolio of acute and non-acute medical facilities in Ireland.
This key role will involve sourcing, appointing, and managing an external service provider to design, install, and maintain EV charging solutions in line with national decarbonisation objectives and healthcare sustainability priorities.
Key Responsibilities: With the support of the Senior Team, Lead the procurement process to source and appoint a qualified service provider to deliver EV charging infrastructure across healthcare sites.
Define project requirements, prepare tender documentation, and manage all aspects of public procurementensuring compliance with national guidelines.
Act as the client-side project manager, overseeing and coordinating the appointed service providers performance to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, risk registers, and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct or commission site surveys and feasibility assessments to inform solution design and rollout strategy.
Collaborate with local facility managers, Estates Departments, utility providers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies to support delivery.
Ensure all works adhere to health & safety, accessibility, and environmental standards.
Monitor performance metrics, resolve issues, and manage contract variations or escalations as required.
Support long-term planning for EV infrastructure scalability and integration with fleet decarbonisation strategies.
Requirements: Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related Level 8 Academic discipline.
Minimum 3 years experience in managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, ideally involving outsourced service delivery.
Demonstrable experience with public processes desirable Contractor management.
Strong understanding of EV charging systems, sustainable transport policy, and decarbonisation frameworks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficient in project management software and reporting tools.
Experience in healthcare infrastructure or public sector capital works would be a clear advantage.
Familiarity with SEAI/TII grant schemes and sustainable fleet transition planning.
Technical knowledge of EV charging technology, grid capacity, and energy efficiency systems.
