Job Description
Main Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a skilled analytical chemist to conduct testing of pharmaceutical substances in a GMP environment. The main focus will be on GC and HPLC analysis, as well as other analytical techniques as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive training from SGS and clients on relevant analytical techniques and ensure proficiency in laboratory equipment and methods.
* Train and mentor junior analysts where qualified.
* Conduct testing according to valid testing procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain laboratory equipment and calibrate at designated frequencies.
* Manage inventory and status of materials required for analysis.
* Verify and review results generated by other analysts for compliance with requirements.
* Ensure accurate data entry into LIMS systems.
* Evaluate testing results and close out batch analysis.
* Meet target dates and communicate testing status through visibility tools and meetings.
* Maintain high housekeeping standards in laboratories.
* Ensure lab records meet high standards with work completed accurately and on time.
* Develop and maintain necessary documentation (SOPs, methods, reports, etc.).
* Collaborate with the team to meet customer expectations and achieve client and SGS Key Performance Indicators.
* Notify contacts and document results for any atypical or aberrant results.
* Lead laboratory investigations and deviations when required.
* Promote a safe working environment and implement safety, environmental, quality, and service improvements.
* Participate in self-development and career progression with leadership guidance.
* Acknowledge personal responsibility for health and safety of oneself, colleagues, and clients, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent (Level 7 minimum).
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a GMP laboratory setting.
* Familiarity with data integrity principles and analytical technologies (HPLC, GC, KF, IR, PSD, X-ray, Wet chemistry).
* Team player with a strong customer service orientation, flexible to evolving needs.
* Excellent quality and safety standards.
* Aptitude in lab computer systems, including LIMS and Trackwise.
