The ideal candidate will:Be enrolled and studying Pharmacy (essential)Be from University College Cork (UCC), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), or Trinity College Dublin (Trinity)Have experience of working in a pharmacy environment (desirable but not essential)Have excellent time management and organisational skillsBe flexible and capable of working on his/her own initiativeHave excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBe committed to quality improvementHave basic knowledge of how to use a computer to perform tasksThe duties of the position include:Participation in the organising and assisting in the day-to-day workflow in the pharmacy departmentParticipation in the supply of drugs, pharmaceuticals and other related items under supervisionParticipation in the purchase, storage and management of pharmacy stock at pharmacy and ward levelAnswering pharmacy related queries from staff or public under supervisionManaging departmental phone calls and queriesCollection & Distribution of morning post and documentationCharging of Stock Movements towards/units from pharmacyProcessing and documentation control for prescriptionsChecking and amending charge sheets for correct postingIdentifying credit notes required from suppliersProcessing returns to suppliersPerforming other duties as assigned by the Senior Pharmaceutical Technician and Chief PharmacistsInformal enquiries in relation to this position can be made by contacting Susanne O'Shea, Chief I Pharmacist, Bon Secours Hospital, College Road, Cork at (021) 4801758.
