POSITION DETAILS:

PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Sales Player Manager will play a dual role of leading sales initiatives while managing a team to drive significant business growth for Bytes International in Ireland. This position requires a hands-on leader who can actively engage in client acquisition, manage key accounts, and build a robust sales strategy. This role is designed to transition into the Ireland Country Manager position, overseeing comprehensive business operations and representing Bytes’ interests in the Irish market. The ideal candidate will leverage their leadership, sales acumen, and industry expertise to build and scale the organisation in Ireland, positioning it as a leader in managed services and technology solutions, specially building key relationships with Microsoft and HPE within the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and execute the country-specific sales strategy to meet growth objectives, revenue targets, and market share goals.
* Actively participate in sales efforts, including client prospecting, proposal development, and closing deals to achieve revenue targets.
* Maintain key customer and vendor relationships and drive overall sales growth.
* Support local as well as regional and global bids to enable Bytes to acquire net new customers.
* Promote Bytes’ brand presence through industry events, speaking engagements, and active participation in professional networks.
Operational Leadership:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Irish team, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and alignment with global operational standards.
* Manage financial performance, forecasting, and cost control, ensuring the business meets profitability goals.
Team Development and Leadership:
* Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales team.
* Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management to drive team success and development.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, within country and across the wider region, and ultimately globally.
Vendor and Partner Relations:
* Build and nurture relationships with strategic partners and vendors, such as Microsoft and HPE, to strengthen Bytes’ market position and service portfolio.
* Working with global and regional teams, support development and execution of vendor specific sales targets, business plans, marketing plans, customer prospecting, vendor incentives, and renewals management.
Client Engagement:
* Serve as the face of Bytes International in Ireland, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and acting as a trusted advisor to key accounts.
* Ensure effective delivery of services, addressing client concerns, and driving customer success through the complete pre- and post- sales lifecycle.
Reporting and Analytics:
* Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of business development, financials, and operational performance to regional and global leadership.
* Utilise data-driven insights to continuously improve business strategy, operations and sales execution.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Sales Performance: Oversee and direct all sales activities within the territory, ensuring appropriate customer, revenue and GP targets are set and forecasts accurately maintained.
* Team Leadership & Development: Set direction for the team and provide oversight relating to resource planning, recruitment, and skills development. Coach team members through growth mindset, challenge individuals to maximise their full potential and drive innovation.
* Sales Enablement: Support and coach team members on propositions, value messaging and consultative selling. Continuously review and refine approach to sales enablement to enhance productivity and effectiveness across the sales teams.
* Marketing: Contribute to the marketing plan with internal and external ideas, market research, vendor focus areas, emerging trends, and timely collateral updates. Actively promote the Bytes brand via internal and external channels (blogs, podcasts, socials, thought leadership keynotes etc).
* Customer Engagement: Act as a point of contact for key accounts in the country, regularly attending QBRs and ensuring customer requirements and expectations are being met.
* Vendor/Partner Management: Develop, maintain and nurture key stakeholder relationships within aligned vendor and partner community.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Educational Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in technology or business management.
DESIRABLE
Years of Experience:
* Five (5) years+ of demonstrable sales experience within technology or IT services industry.
* Previous Sales leadership experience (minimum 2 years).
REQUIRED
Other Requirements:
* Good network building skills with a network across vendors, customers and partners in Ireland.
* Broad commercial and technology understanding of cloud, datacentre, and cybersecurity.
* Good understanding of FinOps value proposition.
* Good understanding of software licensing procurement and management processes.
* Understanding of AI and ideally Microsoft Copilot.
* Specific experience and familiarity with the Irish market, in SMB and Enterprise.
