Payroll / Accounts Assistant Clara, Co. Offaly Salary: €38,000 - €42,000 Hybrid Working My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll / Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. Candidates will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. Candidates will need to have a good working knowledge of Excel Key Responsibilities: Accounts Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Assist with accounts payable and receivable. Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts. Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports. Support in maintaining fixed asset registers. Monthly and year-end GL & BS reconciliation Support month-end and year-end closing procedures. Payroll Processing: Prepare and process payrolls for all employees, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and benefits. Process overtime, commissions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments. Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll data to relevant authorities. Maintain employee records, including tax filings and contributions to pension schemes. Process and manage statutory deductions (e.g., taxes, PRSI etc.). Respond to payroll inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to payroll laws, regulations, and company policies. Assist with audits related to accounts and payroll. Prepare and submit statutory reports, including tax filings and other relevant documentation. Other Duties: Provide general support to the Finance team as required. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Help identify and implement process improvements within the finance and payroll functions. Month end expense accounts payments and reconciliations Key Skills: Accounting technician or Part qualified in accounting or finance-related field is preferred. A Payroll certification would be a distinct advantage. Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, Payroll Clerk, or in a similar role. Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems. Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll legislation. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office especially Excel. Knowledge of payroll-related software is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
