BioAtlantis is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and maintain our Quality System within our production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with food and feed safety standards, including HACCP and GMP+, while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The QA Manager will collaborate closely with operations, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality System Management:
* Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
* Ensure all quality-related documentation is properly structured, formatted, and managed, including Master Manufacturing Records (MMR), Batch Production Records (BPR), Food Safety Plans, and Quality Plans.
* Oversee deviation management and report any non-conformities to senior management.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
* Ensure compliance with FSA, FDA, HACCP, and GMP+ standards through staff training and quality education programs.
* Develop regulatory strategies to align with business objectives in the biostimulants, food, and feed sectors.
* Serve as a key liaison with regulatory bodies such as FSA, FDA, EPA, ECHA (REACH), and Department of Agriculture.
Quality Control & Audits:
* Lead internal audit programs, including scheduling, auditor training, and conducting audits to identify areas for improvement.
* Validate Food Safety Preventative Controls to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
* Manage the Deviation and Change Control Program at the plant level.
* Conduct root cause analyses and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Testing & Batch Release:
* Develop and manage QC testing procedures for production and packaging to ensure finished product compliance.
* Oversee raw material and finished goods sampling programs.
* Manage the batch release process and ensure all products meet internal and external specifications.
Customer Complaints & Continuous Improvement:
* Lead customer complaint investigations, ensuring prompt resolution and preventive measures.
* Track and analyze quality performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Act as the Plant Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HACCP Standards.
* Represent the company in regulatory discussions and industry standards development (e.g., CEN).
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Training:
* Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* HACCP training (within the last 3–5 years) with expertise in food safety validation and audit leadership.
Industry Experience:
* Prior experience in quality assurance for food, feed, dairy or beverage manufacturing.
* Experience with GMP+ Standards (preferred).
* Knowledge of nutraceutical or infant food manufacturing is a plus.
* Proven track record in handling government audits.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining cross-functional collaboration.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with regulatory authorities and internal teams.
* Detail-oriented with strong technical writing and documentation management skills.
