Job Description:
The EPA is an independent regulatory body, established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992. The purpose of the EPA is to protect, improve and restore our environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and working with others.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with the Director General and act as a Board Member
* Lead the work of one of the Offices of the EPA: Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS) or Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM)
Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS):
OCCS is responsible for various support functions, including human resource management, learning and development, health safety and welfare, facilities management, financial management, corporate governance, communications and information & communication technology.
Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM):
ORM has a wide range of functions across areas including air, water, radiation, noise, chemicals, nuclear safety & emergency preparedness, Strategic Environmental Assessment and State of Environment Reporting.
Requirements:
* An appropriate qualification in Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline (minimum NFQ Level 8)
* Significant knowledge/experience in environmental and/or radiological protection matters
* A minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience, including 5 years' senior management experience with a proven track record
