We are NOT looking for general laborers. We are looking for those who have a passion for the outdoors to join our award-winning team.
Responsibilities:
* Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.
* Work closely with Foreman in maintenance of residential & commercial landscapes performing work in accordance with industry best practices and company standards.
* Understand the “Big Picture” of the project and how you can help ensure the job runs smoothly in an efficient manner according to estimated allotted times.
* Maintain a clean and safe job site. Follow all safety rules and company safety policies and utilize all required personal protective equipment.
* Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
* Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas.
* Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicles and report all issues to foreman for proper documentation.
* Perform highly physical work on a consistent basis.
* Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward mobility.
Job Duties:
* Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis.
* Proficiently operate powered maintenance equipment to include commercial lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, hedge shears, chainsaws, leaf blowers, aerators.
* Proficiently operate miscellaneous hand-held tools such as pruners, loppers, and shovel.
* Perform lawn maintenance duties such as mowing the lawn, edging garden beds, and trimming around the edges.
* Perform seasonal cleanups to include removal of leaves and other debris.
* Identify plants and bushes and recall specific proper maintenance procedures for each.
* Trim and prune bushes according to horticultural best practices & company standards.
* Edge garden beds and spread mulch according to company standards.
* Plant various flowers, bushes & trees to enhance landscapes.
* Various other maintenance tasks to maintain health & aesthetics of both residential and commercial landscapes.
* Perform snow removal during winter months by utilizing a plow, snow blower, and snow shovel on commercial and residential properties.
* Spread salt during winter months on commercial and residential properties.
* Takes on additional responsibilities to assist team as needed.
Skills:
* Technically skilled. Demonstrates attention to detail with a high level of quality.
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English).
* Demonstrates ability to identify various plants and diseases that affect them.
* Demonstrates ability to differentiate between weeds and plants in garden beds.
* Demonstrate competency in specific materials, methods, tools, equipment, and techniques required to complete required tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
* Demonstrate competency in techniques of proper horticulture maintenance to include pruning and trimming basics.

* For snow removal: have the flexibility to work around the weather and ability to work long hours performing snow removal services. Nights, weekends, and overtime will be required depending on the timing of the weather.
Other requirements include:
* 2+ years of related experience.
* Valid driver’s license and clean record.
* MA DOT card or the ability to obtain one.
* Ability to drive truck and trailer combination.
* MA Pesticides License (preferred).
* OSHA 10/30 (preferred).
* Applicants with military experience encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time seasonal position. Snow removal services and winter work during the off season. Average work day is 10 hours for approximately 50 hours a week. Time and a half over 40 hours. The occasional Saturday will be required based on weather and other delays. Paid sick/vacation. Paid training and development available. Paid holidays.
