Job Purpose
To deliver budgeted sales, profit growth, & share, whilst developing the day to day partnership between Colgate Palmolive and Ireland customers, within a balanced, mutually profitable business model.
Responsibility for a portfolio of Colgate-Palmolive products with the retailerAchieving budgeted Net Sales & Margin targetsIdentify & drive through to deliver incremental opportunities via general business & data analysis, negotiation, & understanding opportunities for potential business change.Supporting the Senior Customer Development Manager with Joint Business planning and account administration.Fully manage P&L for part of the portfolioResponsible for the input of an accurate demand plan in demand planning tools (to be specified by customer)What you will do: External: Build strong external networks with the Buyers/Buying Manager to raise the profile, business focus and support for Colgate-Palmolive within this customer.Demonstrate a clear understanding of the market, competitor landscape and customer strategy, and their shopper to demonstrate how Irish customers can win & CP can optimise their brands within this environment.Develop and gain agreement to a 12/24 month plan for Ireland.Demonstrate commercial acumen in interrogating the business, to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimisation gaining consensus from the Tesco buyers.Lead a cross functional relationship with Ireland customers and Colgate Palmolive – incorporating support from Category Management and Shopper Marketing where requiredWork closely with Colgate Palmolive UK team and align all plans with cross functional teams based in the UKShare market intelligence from Nielsen / Kantar etc with the customers to continue to own the conversationAttend customer meetings at the retailer with CDM, supporting preparation with promotional analysis and Joint Business Plan updates.Strengthen customer selling story and add insight to broader CP business.To build mutually beneficial relationships with your retailers Supply Chain contacts responsible for forecasting that enable productive CPFR conversations to drive alignment in the customer demand plan.
Always supervise customer systems to ensure collaborative plans have been accurately input to the agreed forecast.Manage external contact with the retailer.
Identify and develop the relevant contacts for the retailer's online business (where required).Internal: Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual net sales/margin/profit targets by developing, aligning & implementing commercial plans aligned to customer strategy and the wider Irish Market working alongside UK Retail Marketing and CD Team leadsRemain fully connected & aligned with Colgate UK to ensure full understanding of Irish market trends and implications for customer v's competitions.Be a full member of the UK & Ireland Customer development Team, attend meetings when appropriate.Undertake appropriate analytics to understand Ireland performance and vital course correction plans working with Category Manager to analyse Colgate and competitor promotional plan.Work with Shopper Development Manager on in-store activation opportunitiesAccurately forecast volume/sales/investment through effective 5P planning and clear identification of risks and opportunities on a monthly cycleLead the planning/keystroke of customer plans into the SAP system, to include volume and pricing conditions for all baseline and promotional events to meet the Monthly Subject area timelines.To be responsible for the invoice processing, tracking and resolution of outstanding issues in collaboration with the CBS including margin reconciliationsTo provide regular business updates to UK team, and provide recommendations to grow key metrics fasterCollaborate with the Demand Planning and CEL team to reflect all customer dynamics.To ensure accuracy of Master data and the effective launch of new products / co-pack solutions.Analyse Colgate and competitor promotional activity using all relevant data sources and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement to CP plan.
Take all learning and adjust to future customer demand plans in CBP in order to reflect current category and/or customer performance.To connect with Demand Planning and to initiate "Fast Track" when unforeseen events occur with the planning timeframes that will/may impact our ability to meet customer demand.
Examples include:Up-weighted promotional location / promotion period lengthened / promotion cycle change.Increased distribution points / Price change that will result in higher volume demand.To collaborate with internal team and external Field team to ensure excellent on shelf availability.Who you are:
