About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Lead for our client's pharmaceutical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the construction of pharmaceutical facilities, along with a solid background in electrical systems, coupled with experience in instrumentation installation and commissioning.
This is a senior role that requires hands-on expertise in managing electrical installations in complex environments like pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, where precision, safety, and regulatory compliance are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Leadership: Manage the electrical installation teams for pharmaceutical construction projects, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and within budget.
* Design and Review: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review electrical and instrumentation schematics, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
* Electrical Installations: Oversee the installation of high and low voltage electrical systems, switchgear, and distribution systems in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and pharmaceutical regulations.
* Instrumentation: Manage the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems, ensuring accurate calibration and integration into the process.
* Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure they meet the highest quality and safety standards, as well as project specifications.
* Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant Irish and European electrical codes, health and safety regulations, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
* Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to procure electrical materials, equipment, and instrumentation components, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical and instrumentation installations, testing results, and as-built drawings, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date for handover.
* Risk Management: Identify potential electrical and instrumentation risks on-site, implementing mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or safety issues.
* Team Supervision: Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to electrical teams, promoting a strong safety culture and high performance.
Requirements
* Education: A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
* Relevant technical certifications will also be considered.
* Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience with instrumentation systems is essential.
* Knowledge of Standards: Solid understanding of Irish electrical regulations, ETCI, and EU standards, as well as industry-specific guidelines like ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering).
* Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues in a high-pressure environment.
