Ecological Clerk of Works Dublin / Leinster
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecological Clerk of Works to join a leading consultancy specializing in planning and environmental services.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position within the Ecology division.
* The successful candidate will work on projects in the wind energy, renewables, remediation, and infrastructure sectors.
* A broad range of experience on similar types of projects in these sectors is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
The Ecological Clerk of Works will be responsible for:
1. Taking ownership of projects under the direction of senior team members from inception to completion.
2. Providing regular project updates to the ecology team seniors.
3. Reviewing relevant documents, including NIS, Ec IA, CEMP, biodiversity, and habitat management plans.
4. Undertaking pre-commencement and post-operation ecological surveys, recording data, creating maps using QGIS, and producing detailed reports.
5. Providing ecological site supervision, recording data, and making recommendations to site operatives, and producing detailed final audit reports.
6. Consulting with local planning authorities, local heritage officers, National Parks and Wildlife (NPWS), and Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Strong project management skills.
* Great communication skills: written and verbal.
* Excellent IT skills.
* A 3rd level qualification in environmental science, ecology or a similar discipline, construction management, civil engineering, or related fields.
* 2+ years post-graduate experience or a broad range of project experience at the construction stage.
* Knowledge of construction and project management, ecology, and other EIAR subject areas.
* A full driver's license.
