Our client are an M&E Contractor who work on major projects in the areas of Mechanical Services, Air Conditioning, Electrical Services and Process Engineering for Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical and Medical Clients.
The successful candidate will hold a mechanical engineering electrical trade qualification and will have experience in large scale electrical projects.
This is an office based role with the option of hybrid hours reporting into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing and delivering mechanical project tenders and packages from tender request to submission. Candidate should be familiar with MS Office suite (word, excel, project).
Experience in a mechanical/electrical contracting environment essential
Identifying and building up cost estimates by analysing the materials and labour needed to complete large scale commercial,
industrial and residential projects
Reviewing residential, industrial, and commercial building plans in order to determine the electrical needs of a project for estimate.
Reviewing supplier costs in order to determine how much each individual element costs, and negotiating with suppliers in order to bargain the best prices
Maintaining cost of databases and outlining common costs in order to save time on future estimates
Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications
Ability to meet tender deadlines
Ability to pay a close eye to detail for accuracy.
Ability to solve complex problems in an efficient manner.
Sound organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually.
Ability to check multiple data sources.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Requirements
3+ years’ experience experience in pricing and estimating mechanical packages
The successful estimator will be responsible for producing high quality tender returns.
Reporting directly into the directors.
The ideal candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the other members of the estimating team to ensure a high level of quality is achieved on all tender returns.
