Technical Manager Role and Responsibilities:
1. Leading and managing the technical delivery team to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims for submission, taking responsibility and accountability for compliance and delivery performance.
2. Lead meetings with the engineering and financial client stakeholders; examine client operations and processes to capture, qualify and draft qualifying activities and costs relevant to R&D incentives.
3. Responsibility for the project management to ensure service delivery in line with client expectations.
4. Coaching and developing junior staff, and leading by example in terms of client relationships, technical quality, and service delivery.
5. Lead in progressing business development opportunities with both new and existing clients.
6. Lead discussions/audits that may arise with the Revenue Commissioners.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Honours/ Post Graduate Degree in STEM-related discipline.
2. Detailed working knowledge of the R&D tax legislation, and its application to STEM activities.
3. Industry experience in STEM and ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts.
4. Understand key tax/costing concepts relevant to R&D claim preparation, as well as the capability to work within cross-disciplinary teams.
5. Proven project and staff management skills, demonstrating the ability to manage own workload well, as well as delegating to staff members.
6. Excellent communication skills being able to lead technical discussions and explain complex legislative concepts to stakeholders who have no prior experience of the tax definition of R&D.
7. Must be capable of producing high-quality, professional documentation and reports for C-suite stakeholders within our clients.
