Job Title: Business Development Manager - Chemical Sales in Pharmaceutical Sector
We are seeking a strong business development person with expertise in chemical sales to join our team in Ireland. As a Business Manager, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a profitable and sustainable Business Unit in our Pharmaceutical ingredients division.
Your primary focus will be on developing long-term business relationships with key customers across the Irish market. You will identify and capitalize on new opportunities to grow our business unit and promote the opportunities for customers to work with our company's Innovation and Manufacturing services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Sales (60% time/daily): Develop key accounts, build opportunity banks, create active sales projects, drive gross margin growth, manage existing accounts, establish long-term client relationships, communicate with major customers, suggest solutions, and act as liaison between customers and internal teams.
* Manufacturer Relationships (30% time/weekly): Develop relationships with suppliers, obtain marketing information, ensure adequate stock, communicate with supplier partners, cultivate new supplier partners.
* Training (10% time/monthly): Utilize CRM software, MS Office, and solution-seeking attitude to drive business growth.
Requirements:
* BSc/PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry essential.
* 3+ years of Chemical Sales experience required at Business Manager level.
* Knowledge of the Irish pharmaceutical pipeline, particularly in APIs, excipients, drug delivery systems, and formulation markets.
* Solid sales experience in a B2B environment.
* Proven experience as a Business Manager/Account Manager in the Chemical Distribution Industry.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Business acumen to attract and develop new supplier partners.
* Experience of using CRM software and MS Office.
