Project Manager - Engineering (Continuous Improvement / Lean / Projects)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our medical device start-up. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
Responsibilities
* Develop project plans, including key milestones and resource allocation.
* Utilize project management tools such as Gantt charts, Risk Registers, and Progress Charts to track project progress.
* Coordinate with functional managers to align timelines and milestones with functional KPIs.
* Manage all project stages in compliance with internal procedures.
* Ensure daily and weekly objectives and tasks are met.
* Collaborate with team members to resolve project issues, considering all stakeholder input.
* Presentation of regular project status updates to the project team and management.
* Identification of the critical path of the project and monitoring the status of key work packages.
* Contribution to the development of project management techniques and tools.
* Evaluation of areas of the project for alternative paths to improve timelines and mitigate risks.
* Communication of project priorities and status effectively.
* Coordination of internal and external resources to align with project timelines and scope.
* Establishment and maintenance of relationships with all project team members.
* Identification and reporting of resource constraints to leadership.
* Proactive identification, communication, and mitigation of project risks.
* Development and management of backup strategies for high-risk scenarios.
Requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
* At least 2 years of experience in a product development role such as PMO, DA, or R&D.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
* Proficiency in Gantt software (e.g., MS Project, Team Gantt).
* Currently holding or actively pursuing a project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP) (preferred).
* Experience in developing electromechanical medical devices (preferred).
* Experience with validation of products, test methods, or processes for new product development or technical transfer (preferred).
* Familiarity with standards such as ISO62304, ISO60601, ISO13485, and ISO14971 (preferred).
