A successful Irish FMCG company with a culture of inclusivity, positivity, and entrepreneurial spirit is now hiring a Procurement Manager due to our expanding business.
Role:
This role will include the sourcing of all products, contracting agreements with suppliers at the right price, service level & quality, developing supply relationships, managing risks, and improving supply performance. You will play a vital part in ensuring the continued success and growth of our business.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee supply performance, ensuring business needs are always met.
2. Source business suppliers to supply required items, including sourcing, qualifying, and ensuring budgets are adhered to.
3. Identify opportunities for cost savings, service improvements, and process improvements within the department.
4. Tender and negotiate with suppliers to ensure proper quality, cost, and service levels are met.
5. Build existing relationships and develop new relationships with suppliers to ensure continued high quality and standards.
6. Work with colleagues and other departments to identify better procedures for using the ERP system and improving its efficiency.
7. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing departments to ensure that supply meets the needs of the end client and to ensure the company stays ahead of key competitor offerings.
8. Continuously monitor supply risks and develop strategies for supply cover, anticipating problems before they arise.
9. Align with the company’s sustainability policy within the supply chain.
10. Lead and empower team members in the buying and procurement department, providing coaching, mentorship, and a safe learning environment.
11. Share innovative ideas with an out-of-the-box approach to improve the supply chain, procurement & buying departments.
Requirements:
1. At least 5 years’ experience in a procurement role, with at least 2-3 years in a management or leadership position.
2. Hold a Third level (Bachelor’s) Degree in business, Procurement, or a food-related discipline.
3. Previous experience in the FMCG or similar industry; experience with fresh food distributors, vending machine companies, or supermarket procurement will be beneficial.
4. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster strong and trusting relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
