Job Title: Underwriter
We are seeking an Underwriter to join our client, a dynamic and growing Global Insurance Group in Dublin City.
This is a full-time, office-based role that provides a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of specialised insurance lines with exposure to global markets.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in underwriting specialised business lines. Previous experience in the London market would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite.
Your Role:
* Support underwriting activities by assessing historical data, policy wordings, and ensuring pricing is aligned with the company's risk appetite and guidelines.
* Maintain clear communication with placing brokers throughout the lifecycle of policies, ensuring timely receipt of required documentation.
* Participate in the daily underwriting team calls, assisting with submission reviews, risk assessments, and policy wordings.
* Collaborate with actuarial and risk management teams to apply pricing models and ensure alignment with business targets.
* Represent the business in client and broker meetings, with occasional travel as needed.
* Develop and nurture relationships with both new and existing brokers, contributing to business development efforts.
* Prepare and issue quotes, binders, and policies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Keep informed about industry trends and regulatory updates within the insurance and reinsurance markets.
* Ensure all underwriting decisions and data entries are compliant with internal standards and regulatory frameworks.
Your Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional qualifications, with progress towards ACII or other relevant certifications.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in the (re)insurance industry, preferably in an underwriting or broking capacity.
* Experience working in, or exposure to, the London Insurance Market would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
* Strong understanding of insurance processes, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
* Strong communication skills, capable of working well in a team and maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant underwriting systems.
