Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to provide regular, relevant and insightful reporting and analysis to the cross-functional site team to enable improved decision-making and to provide support for the financial management of key areas within the business.
Responsibilities:
• Build positive relationships with other departments, developing these relationships to assist with delivery of accurate information and results to the business, and provide support to the success of teams across the site.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with department managers, establishing two-way communication and accurate provision of information to support the efficient running and continuous improvement of the site.
• Provide proactive dedicated financial support to nominated departments as specified by site management.
• Through effective teamwork, promote a harmonious working environment based upon the building blocks of the company's Vision and Values and take action to address individual or group behaviour that may be detrimental to positive working relationships in accordance with company procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all functions including Health and Safety, Production, Food Safety & Quality, Technical Services, Planning, Finance, and HR.
Key Deliverables:
• Preparation and analysis of the weekly KPI report for submission to the Site Management Team for review.
• Consolidating weekly production data into the Yield & Efficiency report for distribution to the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Director.
• Analyse production waste and preparation of report for distribution to Site Management Team.
• Preparation and posting of month end adjustments e.g. prepayments and accruals, and supporting the Management Accountant in the completion of the monthly reporting cycle.
• Support the effective control of inventory by assisting the Stores team in completion of weekly stock counts by providing stock listings from SAP, review/understand any variances identified, and follow-up on any action items.
• Reconciliation of 3rd party stock counts to SAP.
• Cost centre reporting, supporting the Management Accountant in reviewing monthly actual versus budget variances, and forecasting with individual cost centre managers.
• Support the Site Leadership Team with the preparation and interpretation of financial and non-financial data as and when required.
• Represent the Finance team in daily site meetings, ensuring the financial implication of any past or future activities are a part of the focus.
• Ad hoc cover support for other Finance Team members as required
Responsible Care:
• Drive and support a positive Health and Safety culture within the department where H&S is given equal priority with all other activities.
• Maintain focus on workplace safety, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure that the circumstances of any accidents or incidents are recorded in detail, reported via specified methods and that any supporting documentation is completed promptly and passed to the department manager.
• Immediately escalate any accidents to the Financial Controller.
• Promote the culture of Stop, Think, Act within the department.
• Observe, act on and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment.
• Promote the submission of Safety Improvement recommendation (SIR)s.
• Ensure all Personal Protective clothing and equipment is worn in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure understanding of the site Environmental Targets and objectives and how the department can influence these in a positive manner.
• Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role.
Qualifications and Training:
• Relevant Degree level education.
• Part Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or willingness to study towards a chartered qualification.
Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a finance role.
• Use of MS Excel to understand and report financial data.
• ERP System user.
• Supporting reporting improvements.
• Reporting key financial information to senior teams.
• Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Use of MS Excel Analytical tools (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• SAP User.
• Identified and implemented reporting improvements.
