The AA is embarking on an exciting growth and transformation phase and is seeking to recruit a Data Scientist for our Commercial team.
The Senior Data Scientist will work in a Pricing department which is a pivotal element of the wider Commercial division.
You will implement pricing processes based on complex business requirements to deliver reliable solutions to business strategies. Manage and target profit and growth of AA products through pricing initiatives. Provide analytical support on trading issues and solutions. Build and maintain complex reports and visualizations to improve business performance. Develop, test and deploy new pricing models to optimise our pricing and conversion strategy. Perform ad-hoc analysis on business processes and their development to answer key questions towards driving trading performance. Take ownership of and manage ad-hoc requests to support business development.

Work location: Whilst the base for this role will be the company’s Head Office on Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 the role is eligible for the company’s Hybrid Working Policy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of operational machine learning processes that drive efficiency and trading success.
2. Optimize machine learning algorithms to align with our business goals, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation.
3. Provide insightful analytics to support our operational business processes, enhancing decision-making.
4. Offer analytical expertise to address trading issues and craft effective solutions.
5. Develop and maintain intricate reports and visualizations that elevate business performance.
6. Conduct in-depth ad-hoc analyses to guide trading strategies and process enhancements.
7. Take ownership of ad-hoc requests, facilitating business development through data-driven insights.
8. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify critical business inquiries and translate them into actionable data solutions.
9. Apply your statistical prowess to uncover data trends, patterns, and correlations.
10. Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.
11. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, pioneering innovative data analysis and model development approaches.
The Candidate should have the following:
Minimum qualifications, experience & skills:
1. Master or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science or Mathematics.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with expertise in operational analytics and machine learning.
3. Experience with Statistical modelling techniques such as regression, segmentation, prediction and forecasting.
4. Experience in developing, testing and deployment of production code.
5. Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning algorithms.
6. Ability to produce accurate and high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
7. Strong programming capability.
8. Strong mathematical background and problem-solving skills.
9. Proven capability of leading and managing projects and business solutions.
10. Strong statistical knowledge, enabling you to extract insights that drive impactful decisions.
11. Excellent communication skills for collaboration and presenting results to diverse stakeholders.
12. Prior experience in the trading industry is a plus.
Knowledge of:
1. Python
2. SQL
3. Microsoft Excel
4. TIBCO Spotfire, Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of data warehouses.
2. Knowledge of MS Azure.
3. Agile development processes and best practices.
