Building a Sustainable Tomorrow
We are seeking highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Managers to help us deliver a sustainable tomorrow. As an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will report to a Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager (SESM) and accelerate BAM's transition to a more sustainable business.
Your key responsibilities include coordinating regional activities, implementing our sustainability strategy, and driving internal continuous improvement. You will support project teams, work winning, upskilling, and BAM's progress towards its sustainability targets while overseeing the execution of environmental compliance to ISO14001.
You will be the go-to resource for specialist environmental sustainability advice and may have a matrix relationship within the operational business. Nationwide travel is involved in this role.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Environmental Sustainability Expertise:
* Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering environmental improvements within the sector and across associated trades.
* Possess advanced knowledge of ISO14001 compliance and assurance, along with key environmental aspects.
* Lead management reviews and ensure associated procedures and plans are continually improved.
* Have a good working knowledge of key strategy aspects (decarbonisation, circular economy, climate adaptation, and biodiversity) applicable to your role.
Standards and Reporting:
* Adhere to industry standards, company procedures, and legal requirements.
* Communicate identified opportunities and threats to team and relevant projects.
* Understand sector-specific reporting standards and key performance indicators.
* Keep abreast of new guidance and standards and ensure this is adopted by the business.
Certification and Assessment:
* A good knowledge and preferably experience of environmental certification/assessment tools (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, WELL, NABERs).
Effective Communication:
* Translate complex technical information into clear direction for operational teams.
* Conduct awareness and training sessions across the value chain.
* Promote awareness and support delivery of decarbonization, circular economy, climate adaptation, and biodiversity.
* Be a confident presenter, familiar with visual packages to effectively convey key messages.
* Attend key operational meetings as required by the SESM.
Strategic Implementation:
* Undertake regular data reviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities both at site and regional level.
* Develop action plans to achieve regional or Segment goals.
* Understand data governance and analytics and how this can deliver meaningful KPIs.
Client Focus:

* Engage with key client representatives on a peer-to-peer basis.
