About The Shona Project:
The Shona Project is a multi-award-winning national charity, founded in 2016, that aims to educate, empower, and inspire young Irish girls to become strong, confident, and curious women. Through school workshops, online articles and videos, and our nationally recognised SHINE Festival, we’ve reached over 35,000 girls directly and 300,000 girls monthly online. The Shona Project is building a movement of empowered young women, and we are seeking a passionate and strategic Community Manager to help drive our mission forward.
About the Role:
The Community Manager will work closely with the CEO to shape and execute The Shona Project’s corporate and philanthropic fundraising strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation and help secure the funding needed to support our continued expansion.
The ideal candidate will be motivated by purpose, with an ability to build and nurture relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. You will play a key role in creating and executing fundraising campaigns, as well as securing new opportunities for sustainable income streams.

Reports to: CEO/ Board
Hours: We are open to offering part-time, or full-time and flexible working hours for the best candidate
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 (Pro-rata) Depending on skills and experience
Location: Remote, with some national travel for meetings required
Key Responsibilities:
* Relationship Building & Partnership Management: Foster relationships with existing corporate and philanthropic partners, while identifying and pursuing new opportunities that align with The Shona Project's mission and values. Create and maintain a portfolio of corporate partnerships, ensuring long-term engagement and mutual benefit.
* Grant Management & Applications: Track and identify relevant grant funding opportunities, preparing compelling applications with clear objectives and measurable outcomes. Work with the CEO to implement fundraising campaigns, including a major campaign currently under development.
* Corporate and Major Donor Engagement: Create tailored corporate offerings that align with the values and needs of potential partners. Develop high-quality materials, including bespoke funding proposals, to engage corporate sponsors and philanthropic donors. Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers and corporate leaders.
* Reporting & Performance Tracking: Set financial targets and drive fundraising activities to ensure they are met. Develop and deliver regular reports on fundraising progress for internal stakeholders and external partners. Maintain comprehensive databases for major donors, trusts, and foundations, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-ups.
* Event Management: Organise and manage philanthropic events to engage donors, raise awareness, and celebrate the impact of The Shona Project’s work.
Required Skills & Experience:
* A proven track record in corporate and major donor fundraising, or corporate business development.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrable experience in negotiating, selling, and influencing.
* In-depth understanding of the corporate sector’s motivations, operating models, and needs.
* Excellent relationship-building skills, with a focus on both internal and external stakeholders.
* A deep understanding of the social issues The Shona Project addresses and a passion for advancing gender equality.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
* A results-driven mindset, with the ability to set and meet financial and relationship-building goals.
* Ability to work autonomously and proactively, while also being a team player.
* Clean driving license and the ability to travel within Ireland (and occasionally internationally) as required.
