Role Overview
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you'll ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day management of site activities.
2. Coordinate design and engineering requirements with consultants and the wider project team.
3. Oversee site setting-out and ensure accurate technical execution of works.
4. Ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards.
5. Maintain accurate records of progress, materials, and site activities.
6. Assist with the preparation of RAMS, permits, and daily reports.
7. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain project timelines.
8. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
9. Contribute to quality control, cost management, and value engineering initiatives.
10. Participate in project review meetings and assist in resolving technical issues.
Requirements
1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
2. 2+ years of experience in a site or project engineering role (civil/groundworks/utilities preferred).
3. Strong understanding of engineering principles, drawings, and specifications.
4. Proficient in AutoCAD, surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, Total Station), and Microsoft Office.
5. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
7. Full clean driving licence.
Desirable
1. Experience in roadworks, drainage, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
2. Knowledge of Irish building regulations and statutory requirements.
3. Current Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and other relevant site certifications.
