This role will provide support to a BPO project with a Japanese entity. Reporting to the Manager and/or Assistant Manager, the Finance Assistant will work as part of the finance team who are responsible for supporting AP process, invoice translation, data input, report production and month end process for a large multinational client. This position would suit someone who is willing to gain accounting experience in a high-paced professional services environment while combining it with study or other personal commitments.
The Grant Thornton Business Risk Services team is currently seeking a driven and self-motivated Internal Audit Associate Director, ideally with a professional services background. The candidate should be comfortable in delivering across product lines and client sectors and have an established client network.
The BRS team comprises 250 risk advisory professionals who deliver a variety of services to our clients across financial services, life sciences, food/ agriculture, construction, industrial, technology, energy, multi-national and public sectors. The team provides a full spectrum of Internal Audit, SOX, SOC, Cyber, AML and Risk Consulting services.
The successful candidate should have strong experience in delivering Internal Audit, SOX, and Risk Consulting engagements, be attuned to interacting with senior stakeholders, monitoring practice management key metrics, and managing a team of internal auditors of varying levels of experience.
The role provides strong candidates with the opportunity to become a key member of the management team and play a role in the continued and successful growth of the business unit whilst working closely with colleagues throughout the firm in a rapidly growing area of the business.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Managing Internal Audit outsourced and co-sourced engagements – these projects often involve managing the output of Grant Thornton staff as well as client teams.
2. Delivering multiple engagements simultaneously including internal audit, SOX compliance and risk consulting projects.
3. Stakeholder management and effective client issue resolution.
4. Acting as an Internal Audit/ Enterprise Risk subject matter expert as required.
5. Managing delivery risk, quality, and budgets on client engagements.
6. Ensuring quality and timely service is delivered to clients.
7. Developing sales and marketing materials for bringing our services to market.
8. Framing our offerings to effectively respond to clients’ RFPs.
9. Managing the proposals process, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.
10. Attending technical and industry events to keep abreast of industry developments and build their personal brand.
11. Managing and influencing the development of team members.
Requisite Experience & Skills
12. Strong academic or professional qualifications.
13. Minimum 7 years’ post qualification experience in internal audit delivery within professional services.
14. Internal audit/ SOX and ERM experience in a 3rd and/ or 2nd line role in industry.
15. Qualification relevant to risk management, regulatory compliance, internal audit, accounting, consulting, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIA, PIIA, MIIA, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
16. Strong client relationship management skills.
17. Exposure to the financial services, public, large private, multinational sectors.
18. Strong project management skills, issue resolution and the ability to plan and manage local and global project teams.
19. A strong team player who is also prepared to lead.
