We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Lead OT Engineer with strong expertise in Ignition by Inductive Automation to oversee design and implementation of Operation Technology (OT) systems across our European operations. The role involves supporting Strategic Business Units (SBUs), ensuring the integration of Ignition based solutions (SCADA, Andon and OEE) to drive operational efficiency, innovation, and process optimization at scale.
Essential skills:
1. Minimum 10 years of experience in Controls Systems or Software Development
2. Demonstrable experience maintaining / developing Batch Control, Andon, OEE, dashboards within Ignition
3. Demonstrable experience designing historians, APIs and system integration to devices on the factory floor such as robotics, vision systems, PLCs and test equipment
4. Controls expertise across PLC, HMI & SCADA would be essential
5. Experienced with solution delivery with industrial controls protocols such as OPC DA/UA for equipment integration to Level 2 systems.
6. Knowledge of Tag Handling, Tag Historian, Alarms and Events
7. Knowledge of communication protocols such as Serial, Ethernet, ASI & EtherNet/IP
8. Knowledge on IOT, MQTT, RESTful, Industry 4.0 technologies, Robot Programming, Vision Systems will be an added advantage
9. Experience in developing SCADA/HMI systems with AB and Ignition for assembly line automation
10. Knowledge of AWS cloud services and engineering
11. Knowledge of cloud-native application design and containerization
12. Familiar with UI/UX best practices (CSS)
13. Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python scripting is an essential requirement. Additionally, Java and C# would be beneficial
14. SQL Expertise: You should have experience developing / maintaining databases utilized by applications developed - Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
15. Managing budget, schedule, resources & project risks
16. Good verbal and written communication skills
17. Able to work in a team-based environment with global collaboration and partner with cross-functional teams including IT and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure and interfaces meet both technical and user needs
18. Must be an individual contributor for project delivery
19. Ability to identify, promote and share best practices within technical groups as part of continuous improvement
20. Mentoring the team for timely delivery with superior quality

5. 5 years’ experience in a software development role is essential with higher level coding and development skills in the likes of Java, Python, C#, Oracle, SQL Server
Qualifications:
1. Ignition Gold Certification
2. Deep knowledge of automation and SCADA applications with successful development and deployment experience
3. Deep knowledge of Digital connectivity / IIoT and sensor technology
4. Collaborate with others to foster effective teamwork by linking own responsibilities to the team’s goals and needs - zeal for new information, knowledge, and experiences
5. Manage time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently
6. Ensure effective and efficient completion of projects by planning and implementing courses of action with other functions and key stakeholders
7. University degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or Computer Science
8. Willing to be mobile and travel domestically and globally
The role offers hybrid working. You must have a full clean driving license and be available to travel as required – expected travel – circa 20%
