Summary
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Operator are to ensure all stock and process related activities are undertaken in accordance with our company practices, procedures and quality system and without error.
Detailed Description
The main duties of the role include:
1. Moves freight and stock to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas either manually or using equipment such as manual pallets trucks, motorised pallet trucks, motorised mover trucks, or motorized forklifts.
2. Records receipts, shipments and invoices.
3. Enters transactions and maintains accurate data on the Warehouse Operating System.
4. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
5. Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
6. Collects information relating to warehouse pass down meetings and communicates key information to colleagues and from one shift to the next.
7. Carries out cycle counts and completes relevant documentation.
8. Ensures data integrity and accuracy is 100% at all times.
9. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre and post-use inspections.
10. Ensures good housekeeping and that workplace organisation is maintained.
11. Participates in all Physical Inventory Counts and maintains stock accuracy.
12. Reports any discrepancies or problems to line manager/supervisor without delay.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Knowledge of warehouse/manufacturing procedures and documentation desirable.
2. Ability to maintain detailed, accurate and organised records.
3. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal customers (external also, if applicable).
4. Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Good organisational abilities.
7. Proven ability to work under minimal supervision along with a high level of motivation.
Typical Experience
1. Forklift Training and holding a valid, in-date licence is desirable.
2. Relevant warehouse experience is essential.
3. Experience in a production environment desirable.
4. Good knowledge of Excel and SAP system.
5. FIFO principles of warehouse is an advantage.
6. Knowledge of and adherence to Quality/ISO audit requirements.
