Psychiatric Nurse Job Overview
Our client is looking for Psychiatric Nurses to join our dynamic team in our specialist inpatient Mental Health Service. This job involves the safe management and administration of medications, supporting service users, and promoting good health practices within the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Medication Management: Safe management and administration of medications.
* Front-Line Support: Utilize nursing skills to support the delivery of effective front-line care to all service users.
* Health Assessments and Plans: Develop and implement Health Assessments, Medication Plans, and relevant documents outlining individual supports including personal plans, epilepsy plans, diabetic plans, etc.
* Health Action Plans: Ensure that all Health Action Plans are delivered appropriately to all service users.
* Community Relationships: Promote good relationships with primary health care services in each individual’s community.
* Communication: Liaise with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and communicate effectively.
* Individual Support: Identify supports and work in partnership with the individuals, their families, and other supports as outlined within individual Personal Plans.
* Appointment Support: Support patients with health appointments and follow through on recommendations.
* Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to patients.
* Person-Centered Planning: Promote and nurture person-centered planning using key worker systems and shared goal setting.
* Community Involvement: Support and promote maximum opportunities for community involvement for people who use the service.
* Reporting: Assist the Director of Nursing with compiling and presenting reports as required.
* Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to both staff and patients.

Skills and Qualifications for this Psychiatric Nurse Job:
Qualification: Registered on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of all aspects of medication management and understanding of the needs of individuals.
Experience: Experience in nursing in a similar psychiatric field and experience relating to people in a supportive role.
