Job Title: Financial Accountant Reporting To: Group Finance Manager Location: 121 St Stephens Green School (or department): Finance Contract type/duration: Full time - Permanent About the role The financial accountant role involves working closely with the Group finance manager within the Reporting team, the senior finance team and the wider finance department. Specifically, the responsibilities of the post will include: Reporting: Defining and managing the production of monthly management reports and financial analysis including: Management of monthly and quarterly reporting calendars Generating internal management reports Improving reports design and relevance Ensuring the accuracy of RCSI balance sheet accounts and timeliness of journal entries and other adjustments Year end statutory reporting under IFRS and US GAAP Responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts for subsidiary undertakings, faculties and specific departments Policies and Process Compliance: Supporting and contributing to the design, development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Finance function Ensuring the necessary finance policies, procedures, controls, systems, processes and support are in place to meet changing & evolving business needs Liaising with external advisors including company secretary Taxation: Preparation and submission of various tax returns for the Group, including PSWT, VAT and Corporation Tax. General: Ad-hoc reporting and analytics, planning and internal and external audit Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time Representing the best interests of the Department/RCSI at all times Ad-hoc reporting and analytics, tax compliance and planning and internal and external audit Person Specification: The successful candidate should be a motivated, flexible, self starter. They will have successfully completed a recognised accountancy qualification and have gained post qualification experience within a large organisation is essential.
