Sales Assistant Plant Area (Seasonal 6 month) Arboretum Kilquade, Job description The position available is for a Sales Assistant Plant Area ( Seasonal ) in the plant area of the award-winning Arboretum Kilquade Garden Centre.
The Sales Assistant will be part of an energetic team that will drive sales and maintain the exacting standards of the plant area.
(Experience is essential) Key Job Responsibilities To provide a professional friendly, and efficient service to the Garden Centres customers, understanding the needs and requirements, working to exceed these wherever possible.
To assist in a proactively driving sales and service across the store through a strong sales team with excellent product knowledge and customer service.
To provide a point of contact for customer enquiries, dealing with these through a successful outcome and maintaining company standards.
Ability to assist with task and the day to day running of the Garden Centre.
Keep up to date with current product knowledge and customer trends.
Ensure all relevant POS, plant labelling and displays are correct and up to date.
Assist management by overseeing goods inwards, stock control and stock taking, ensuring they are conducted in line with company policies.
Follow Health and Safety protocols with the business.
The Ideal candidate Will be able to demonstrate a love of gardening and good general knowledge of gardening and plants.
Will be aware of the high expectations around pace and aptitude to the role.
Will be a peoples person, be extremely customer focused and be results driven.
Must be able to build and maintain customer relationship, delivering an excellent customer service.
Will have excellent communication, planning and organisation skills.
Will be self-motivated yet be a team player.
Be flexible and adaptable to a changing retail environment, Be able to confidently communicate with the customers.
Experience and Qualifications Experience in horticultural retail, or general retail is essential.
Those without experience in a fast-paced retail environment must be able to convey to us their past employment/experience has provided them with the skills that they can transfer to a busy horticultural retail environment.
A successful candidate will be one who is willing to continue learning and expand their knowledge of horticulture, to assist in proactively driving sales and provide excellent product knowledge and service to our customers.
