The Client and Overview of the Role:
Due to an internal promotion, my Client is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to manage a €65m public works project in South Dublin.
The Senior Managers at this company have a track record of developing and challenging their colleagues to further themselves. This will be a great opportunity for someone keen to learn and progress their career over time.
They are a c.€100m+ Main Contracting Group with a focus on Commercial and Public Works building contracts in the Leinster region.
The role responsibilities will vary, depending on experience. Below is a rough idea of what the main responsibilities will include:
1. Work closely with Site Management and Company Directors to ensure that EHS goals are maintained and/or exceeded.
2. Carrying out safety inspections, reviewing RAMS for various tasks from subcontractors.
3. Regularly review and update Company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and Safety Statement.
4. Complete Safety Induction Training for all new staff on site and maintain site diary.
5. Investigate, record, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented.
6. Identify training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
7. Ensure that correct PPE is availed of at all times by those on-site.
8. Review subcontractors’ Safety Statements and Safety Compliance.
9. Provide relevant accident information for insurance purposes.
10. Attend and contribute to regular Health & Safety meetings.
Requirements:
1. Degree Qualified in Health & Safety or similar.
2. Passionate about all things EHS.
3. Good attitude and personality.
4. Ability to influence people.
5. 1+ years’ experience within Health and Safety in a Construction Environment in Ireland.

1. Salary c.€45,000-€55,000 DOE
