Night Porter (Full Time) – Clayton Hotel Cambridge
Following an internal promotion, Clayton Hotel Cambridge has an excellent opportunity for a Night Porter to join the Night Team on a full-time contract.
Clayton Hotel Cambridge is a 4* Deluxe hotel, situated in the heart of Cambridge, just a 1-minute walk from the train station and a 10-minute walk into the city centre. With 160 bedrooms, an extensive restaurant, and 4 meeting rooms, Clayton Hotel Cambridge has a lot to offer an ambitious HR professional.
Objective of the Role
To assist the Night Manager throughout the night shift in relation to hotel and guest security, reception duties, as well as maintaining the agreed standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Check in and out hotel guests as required and assist with guest requests in relation to luggage/porterage.
2. Responsible for the cleaning of areas in the hotel including, but not restricted to lobby, back office, stairways, restaurant and bar floor, public and staff areas, and the meeting room floor.
3. Responsible for cleaning other areas as directed by the manager on duty and as per the nightly checklist, which may include setting up function rooms, breakfast area, etc.
4. Responsibility for the front entrance and outside of the hotel to ensure that it is clean and tidy at all times, including emptying bins and picking up rubbish.
5. To have a full understanding of the hotel’s fire procedures to ensure the safety of all staff and guests at all times.
Requirements:
1. The ideal candidate will have experience working in hospitality.
2. The ability to work on their own initiative, as well as being capable of working as part of a team.
3. A warm, friendly, and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
