Social Worker Role for Adults with Disabilities
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to provide essential supports and services to adults with intellectual disabilities in Kilkenny.
This position requires some travel between services, and a full driver's licence and access to a car are essential.
The role is available on a permanent basis and also includes covering maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments, interventions, and develop person-centred program plans.
2. Empower service users to advocate for themselves and their needs.
3. Promote the rights and interests of service users through advocacy.
4. Foster strong relationships with families and next of kin to ensure comprehensive support.
5. Encourage community participation and inclusion for service users.
6. Collaborate with individuals to set and achieve meaningful goals.
7. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
This role will involve working across residential and day centres, as well as outreach support for adults living at home.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
1. A recognised qualification in social work and registration with CORU.
2. Some post-graduate experience is required, preferably within an intellectual disability service or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
3. A car and full driver's licence are highly beneficial due to the travel involved.
