An IT Support Engineer opportunity has arisen with a well-established Brightwater client with a global footprint in Dublin. The role will see you join the technology operations team which supports teams across multiple geographies. This is a critical front-line support role within a structured IT function that underpins the global operations. The successful candidate will provide essential evening coverage, ensuring the stability and continuity of key systems during out-of-hours processing and will be responsible for enterprise IT support, infrastructure continuity, and the seamless delivery of business-critical systems across multiple international offices.
The Opportunity
Operating as part of a wider IT Operations & Support team, the Night Shift - IT Support Analyst will monitor and maintain core infrastructure and applications, execute pre-defined nightly tasks, and act as the first point of contact for internal users during the evening shift. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a strong foundation in systems and network support, an analytical approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Key Responsibilities
* Execute and monitor end-of-day processing tasks across core systems
* Proactively monitor and document system checks, escalating anomalies with precision and clarity
* Serve as the first point of contact for evening support issues, escalating to senior IT and vendor teams as required
* Collaborate with on-call and international IT teams to ensure rapid resolution of technical incidents
* Maintain and develop internal documentation and process guides
* Support the refinement of evening operations processes and technical procedures
* Cross-train with daytime operators to ensure seamless coverage when needed
Candidate Profile
A technically capable IT support professional with a strong foundation in Windows-based systems, basic networking, and core infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will be confident troubleshooting first-line technical issues, adaptable to new tools and environments, and able to communicate clearly and effectively across support teams.
Core Requirements
* Proficient in Windows operating systems within an enterprise setting
* Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues methodically, minimising business disruption
* Familiar with networking fundamentals and incident diagnosis (exposure to Cisco environments is a plus)
* Sound understanding of IT hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, and related infrastructure
* Clear communicator with the ability to document issues and escalate appropriately
* Comfortable learning new technologies in a dynamic support environment
* Experience in financial services with exposure to Unix, Citrix, VMware, or backup technologies would be a distinct advantage.
