Financial Accountant Position at Credit Union in Cork and Hybrid Environment
We are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join our finance team in a hands-on role leading a small group. This is an interesting position that prioritizes work-life balance.
The Role:
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and offers a high level of autonomy. It is ideal for someone who can work independently and assumes various responsibilities, including:
* Leading the finance team
* Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
* Budgeting and forecasting
* Financial analysis
* Variance analysis
* Assisting with internal and external audits
* Monthly reconciliations
* Cross-functional relationship management
* Aiding junior members' development within the finance team
* Participating in process review and improvement
* Finance-related projects
The Ideal Candidate:
* A Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with experience in accounts preparation and relevant qualifications
* Ideal 2+ years of post-qualification experience
* Experience in financial services or credit unions is desirable
* Able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent interpersonal skills
Description:

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement financial models and forecasts
* Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
* Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for improvement
* Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies
* Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc)
* Relevant experience of accounts preparation
* Ideal 2+ years of PQE
* Experience in Financial Services or Credit Union Desirable
* Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent interpersonal skills
