Due to expansion, currently recruiting an Application Scientist to join their product development/R&D team. Will support technical product development and the successful candidate will be responsible for applying the principles of cell biology, immunology and pharmacology to develop and solve problems involving the production of microfluidic products and the subsequent validation of such products. Role ·Develop applications and new biochip ranges in the following therapeutics areas:Cardiovascular, Oncology, Immunology, Respiratory and Bacteriology. ·Work on the following projects – monoclonal antibodies, fusion process B Cells, protein assays, testing and Microfluidic card on biochip ·Develop further applications – which are microfluidic label free impedence cell analysis and sorting products ·Prepare customer case-studies from validation of experiments and/or demonstrations conducted on-site. ·Research literature; explore opportunities to leverage technology into developing new application areas. ·Plan and execute verification experiment procedures and protocols to identify product specifications. ·Produce application notes, protocols and other promotional material in conjunction with Marketing Manager for use as a selling tool. ·Assist in testing existing equipment and products in development ·Write/review reports, proposals, invention disclosures, patent applications and scientific papers. ·Assist in producing technical data sheets for scientific and marketing publications/communication Requirements ·M.Sc or PhD with 4+ years of experience in cell biology, immunology, pharmacology or in biotech/Pharma/biomedical field executing bench-scale experiments. ·Training in biotechnology, biomedical engineering or biochemical sciences an advantage. ·Experience in continuous flow assays an advantage ·Valid passport for travel overseas to conferences, exhibitions and collaborating with partners and clients ·Full driver's licence for travel to Northern Ireland for meetings
