Manufacturing Engineer
The position requires a manufacturing engineer to work in the company’s European Distribution and Customer Service hub, in Athenry or designated location.
Responsibilities include:
1. Automation Support: Support of automation machinery alongside process monitoring ensuring minimal downtime.
2. Equipment Qualification: Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing.
3. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
4. Process Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.
5. New Product Introduction (NPI): Assist in the transition of new products from the development stage to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
6. Equipment & Tooling: Evaluate and implement new machinery, tooling, and automation systems to enhance production capabilities.
7. Lean Manufacturing: Apply Lean principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to streamline production processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
8. Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and that products comply with industry regulations and customer specifications.
9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality to ensure alignment on manufacturing goals and objectives.
10. Health, Safety & Environmental: Follow all health, safety & environmental rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities to improve the workplace for all employees.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
12. Reports to the Engineering Technical Lead.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree (level 8) in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Candidates without a level 8 degree may be considered if they possess extensive relevant experience in a similar engineering role.
2. Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related roles in an industrial setting. Familiarity with ISO, FDA, or other regulatory standards depending on the industry.
Technical Skills:
1. Teamwork: Proven ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
2. Problem-solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
3. Project Management: Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
4. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
5. CAD Software: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing fixtures, tooling, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
6. Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification is a plus.
7. Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
