Quantity Surveyor (PQS)
Job Summary:
A Quantity Surveyor is required to join our Consultancy team in Westmeath to work on current and ongoing projects.
The Role:
1. Take ownership of designated projects, ensuring commercial and contractual aspects are managed effectively.
2. Measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scope.
3. Check project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessary.
4. Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
5. Produce and maintain up-to-date procurement schedules, compile and issue invitations to tender, and analyze subcontractor quotations.
6. Make recommendations for placement of orders, visit site to measure and value works completed, and assess subcontractor payment entitlement.
7. Process payments, carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast, and keep the management team informed of project performance.
8. Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required.
Requirements:
* Hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
* Have a minimum of three years' QS experience, ideally at a Consultancy.
* Be motivated, driven, and able to work well within a team.
* Be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word.
