Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in selling technical flexible packaging materials, including films, pouches, and bags. The successful candidate will manage and grow sales within the food sector, focusing on printed flexibles designed for direct food contact.
Covering a wide geographic area across the island of Ireland, you will drive new business development while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sales & Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the food and pharma sectors, focusing on printed flexible packaging solutions.
* Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring continued satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
* Market Expansion: Drive new sales into new accounts and introduce new products into existing accounts.
* Technical Consultation: Provide expert advice on flexible packaging materials, ensuring customer needs are met with technically suitable and regulatory-compliant solutions.
* Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with the wider commercial team to develop and execute sales strategies.
* Provide regular sales reports, market insights, and forecasts.
* Industry Awareness: Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments related to flexible packaging for direct food contact.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in technical sales of flexible packaging materials.
* Strong understanding of printed flexibles for direct food contact, including relevant industry regulations and standards.
* A track record of successfully developing new business and growing existing accounts.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Willingness to routinely visit customer sites in Ireland and occasionally travel to suppliers overseas.
* A background in food or pharma packaging sales is highly desirable.
