Job description:
As a QA Analyst, you will perform all testing activities required in each sprint to ensure that the quality of software being released into production is of a consistently high standard.
We are currently migrating our legacy system over to TIA, a web-based policy administration system where we are building and delivering new products and features across the business.
Job Responsibilities
1. Working in an Agile environment, typically to sprints every two weeks, analysing requirements to ensure they are testable.
2. Creating feature files and collaborating with other areas of the business including Business Analysts and Developers.
3. Developing comprehensive and well defined test cases and test scripts and ensure traceability back to requirements.
4. Executing functional, non-functional, regression and integration test scripts.
5. Providing metrics for all testing activities including planning, preparation, execution, defects.
6. Participating in defect triage discussions.
7. Providing post implementation support to the Business.
8. Interrogating the underlying databases to extract test data and execute SQL statements to prove test results.
Education
1. ISTQB (or equivalent) Foundation Level certification is desirable.
Experiences
1. A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a QA Analyst role, preferably in financial services and in product delivery.
2. Experience with eCommerce/Web solutions.
3. Experience and understanding of insurance products is desirable.
4. Experience of TIA, Fineos or Progen insurance applications would be of advantage.
5. Experience working with JIRA and Test Management such as TestRail, TestPro and Zephyr would be of advantage.
6. Demonstrable experience of writing SQL scripts for data extraction and validation purposes.
Competencies
1. A sound working knowledge of General Insurance products, processes and systems/platforms would be of advantage.
2. Knowledge of API / webservice testing tools such as SOAPUI.
3. Knowledge of Selenium Webdriver with Java and Cucumber would be an advantage but not essential.
4. Good problem solving and analytical skills.
5. Ability to interpret user requirements, detailed technical and functional specifications and apply this information to plan, develop and execute test scenarios and scripts.
6. A good working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
7. Good communication skills both written and verbal.
8. Proactive, willingness to take the initiative and associated responsibility.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract role. This role sits within Pay Band C of FBD’s IT Function Pay band.
