The Function and The Role
Reporting to the Category Buying Manager BIFG, the Category Buyer BIFG is a key component of the ARYZTA Ireland BIFG value chain ensuring continuous product supply with the best supply base and at the best value and to the agreed quality specifications.
The Category Buyer BIFG supports all elements of category buying function. This includes supplier base management, ownership of price and product information, administration and reporting including management of the product listing and delist process as part of the Aryzta Ire and UK Gate Process. In this varied role you will work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, product development, quality and technical, commercial, marketing and finance teams.
Channels of activity include both Retail and Foodservice. This role is an opportunity to join a growing food business with large portfolio of products and varied ranges with a diverse customer base and requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Category Buying Manager in the following aspects of the category and product function, the Category Buyer will be responsible for the following:
1. Supplier contracts: Agree and finalise with suppliers up to €10M spend
2. Supplier Management: Day-to-day contact for suppliers and long-term relationship building
3. Conduct monthly supplier reviews
4. Maintenance and collation of supplier information
5. Resolving or escalating supply issues unable to be resolved by supply chain or QA
6. Maintenance and update supplier price files and management of price change process
7. Supporting finance with supplier price detail and terms
8. Managing the product file and SAP input: listing and delisting products with Master Data, maintaining product files and managing changes and delists.
9. Collating Data & Reporting: preparation of reports for weekly reporting, supplier & product analysis, range reviews.
10. Support category and range reviews through data and market insight, reporting, presentation preparation
11. Forecasting/Sales: working with sales to forecast new products, new suppliers and promotions. Monitoring and reporting on same.
12. NPD process: work with product developers in the NPD process liaising with suppliers and key stakeholders in the business
13. NPD process: instigate and complete set up of new products on SAP
14. Support in set up of new suppliers and execution of product migrations with suitable supply partners
15. Identify procurement savings and ensure ARYZTA is always buying at the best price
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in category, procurement or related role within FMCG
* High level of proficiency with SAP and/or similar ERP systems
Proven experience in challenging or negotiation situations
Analytical skills and attention to detail relevant experience
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment both independently and within team setting to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to proactively and independently solve complex problems
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
Team player with ability to work cross functionally
