We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager for a busy food production facility in Co. Waterford.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading the Health & Safety function at a major manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and oversee Health & Safety strategies and improvement plans in collaboration with site management.
Support and lead investigations into incidents and accidents, ensuring root causes are identified and preventative actions are implemented.
Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Engineering, and Operations to address Health & Safety concerns.
Deliver H&S training and manage ongoing training needs across all levels.
Oversee and manage the induction process for new employees.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., HSA) as needed and ensure site compliance.
Monitor third-party and contractor compliance with site H&S policies.
Conduct internal audits to maintain a high standard of safety and ensure the site is audit-ready at all times.
Ideal Candidate: Holds a minimum Level 7 qualification in Health & Safety or related field.
Strong understanding of current H&S legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications as a Manual Handling Instructor and/or Forklift Instructor would be beneficial.
