Director Quantity Surveying - Midlands
A prestigious PQS Firm seeks an experienced Director to lead its Quantity Surveying function on large-scale projects across the Midlands region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team, overseeing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents, monitoring project costs and managing cash flow to achieve budget targets.
* Provide expert advice on contractual matters, including procurement, risk management, and change control.
* Analyse project performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
* Mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and development opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering high-quality service and reporting.
Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (RICS accreditation preferred but not essential).
* Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, and commercial management.
* Proven experience in various sectors, with a track record of bringing projects to successful conclusions.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage teams and build client relationships.
* Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and managing complex projects.
* Good knowledge of current building contracts, including public contracts.
* Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., Cubit, Excel).
