POSITION OVERVIEW
The Education and Development Manager will lead our education and training initiatives, manage operational logistics, and oversee daily guest services with a focus on staff development and streamlined administrative processes. This role is integral in fostering a professional, organized learning environment that emphasizes safety, guest experience, and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Program Development & Implementation: Design and manage educational programs, tailoring activities to meet the needs of various groups such as schools, corporate clients, and individuals. Ensure that all programs align with safety standards, guest experience goals, and team objectives.
* Administrative Oversight: Manage administrative functions related to bookings, payment processing, and equipment tracking, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Maintain up-to-date records of guest services, inventory, and program scheduling, and provide regular reports to senior management.
* Team Leadership & Staff Development: Lead a team of instructors and support staff, promoting professional growth and performance standards through training programs and mentorship. Oversee training initiatives to enhance skills in guest services, safety, and outdoor activities, ensuring that staff align with Ballyhass’s values.
* Operational Coordination & Cross-Departmental Support: Oversee daily operations and coordinate with departments, including catering, reception, and equipment management, to ensure smooth guest experiences. While rostered as duty manager, support front-of-house, activity coordination, and food and beverage services, ensuring a cohesive operational flow.
* Guest Services & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for guests, handling inquiries, feedback, and any challenges with professionalism and empathy. Work closely with schools, corporate clients, and other stakeholders to create impactful, memorable experiences tailored to their needs.
* Facility and Equipment Management: Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained and meet regulatory standards, supporting a safe environment for staff and guests. Track equipment needs and coordinate repairs, replacements, and safety checks.
REQUIREMENTS
* Leadership & Administrative Experience: At least two years in a leadership role with responsibilities for administrative functions, preferably within the adventure or tourism industry, managing bookings, payment processing, and logistics.
* Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with teams and diverse guest groups, demonstrating adaptability and cultural awareness.
* Organizational & Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and make sound, timely decisions.
* Customer Service Expertise: Proven experience in delivering outstanding guest experiences in fast-paced environments.
